Not really. I remember trips across country in the summer and *every* stop absolutely required that the windshield be cleaned. The wipers weren't for weather, mostly bugs.

That doesn't occur so much, now. I doubt it's because there's more cars to spread the pain.

That was the only part of the episode I liked. The part where you could see the electric fans they stuck on everything else after having "cut the fan belt" really kind of ruined it.
